Beyonce and Jay-Z Make Guinness Book of World Records

Music power couple Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have made the Guinness Book of World Records for being the highest-earning power couple in the world. To accomplish the rare feat, they had to knock out perennial media darlings David and Victoria Beckham among others. The numbers are staggering, but perhaps not entirely surprising, considering how omnipresent their music is.

How much did they bank? Try a cool $127* million in 2009. That’s more than other ubiquitous celeb couples like the Beckhams and Brangelina.

It’s not surprising that the couple made the Guinness Book for richest power couple. Between the two of them they have business dealings in many areas:

Beyonce Knowles sings, writes music, dances and acts. She’s the biggest female music act in the world, earning a pretty sweet US $89 million in 2009. When she’s not focusing on her music, she’s modelling for her mother’s clothing line, House of Dereon ($15 million in 2009 according to Forbes magazine) and promoting her own fragrance, Heat.

If that’s not enough, Knowles also has endorsement deals with:

• Samantha Thavasa handbags

• Nintendo

As an actress, Beyonce earns a cool $3-5 million per role. She also acts as executive producer on some of her movies, including Cadillac Records.

While Knowles is a busy woman, her husband is no slouch in the earnings game. Jay-Z aka Shawn Carter pocketed $65 million thanks to the success of his Blueprint III tour (remember Empire State of Mind with Alicia Keys?). He also writes and produces music for many popular singers. He also has endorsement deals with HP and American Express. If that wasn’t enough, he also:

• Has shares in the 40/40 nightclubs
