Testing the BlackBerry 10 OS, first thoughts

It turns out that being left-handed can constrain you when you’re flicking through screens on the BlackBerry 10. It is better when you use your right hand. That’s what I found out when I was invited to preview the OS for the upcoming device to see RIM’s offering.

The BlackBerry has been losing share rapidly and RIM has watched its stocks plummet. There is a lot riding on the BlackBerry 10. I’m working on a full review from a non-tech point of view, which I will link to here, but in the meantime, here are the answers to a few questions that came my way:

Yes, there will be a QWERTY keyboard option but the touchscreen typing was very smooth and significantly error free. Take note of the word, “Flick.” It’s important.

BBM is still around

There are apps

Timeshift is very cool

It’s very slick and I think if you’re a BlackBerry fan, you should be optimistic.
