Very, very dry skin? La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

Winter does a number on my skin. I get so dry you could probably skin me and make a handbag.  (Would I be a luxury, premium or affordable handbag? Thoughts for another day.)

Anyway, back to dry skin. Canadian winters are not pleasant. They can be damp or dry, with wind or not and whatever they are, they suck the moisture out of your skin. If you’re not into Vaseline and need something that soothes and repairs, might I suggest La Roche-Posay’s Cicaplast Baume B5 sooting repairing balm?

Cicaplast Baume B5

How well does it work? This is anecdotal but it worked on my elbow. Here’s the thing with being brown – you get ashy. Elbows and knees get this nasty grey tinge that light moisturizers CANNOT fix. You need the heavy duty stuff. If it’s really bad, the skin can get rough. I’m talking practically cheese grater rough. (I didn’t say it was pleasant.)
The Cicaplast Baume B5 got rid of the dry, rough skin and I no longer look like a handbag candidate.

I’m not promising that it’s free of chemicals because it’s not. It is free of perfume and parabens. It is also quite small at 40 ml and it’s approximately $17 in Shoppers Drug Mart (I purchased this), so it’s not cheap for the size. What it does do is work really well. I’d supplement your regular moisturizer with this for the really tough spots.
