The Perfect LED running armband

I wear a LED armband when I run. I get asked this every time I go for a run in the dark, so granted, not very often but every time I’m outdoors. It happened again tonight when I decided to go out for a jog. Yes, it’s snowing and yes, it’s cold. I didn’t say logic was applied here.

Anyway, after bundling up in about three layers, I usually slip on the armband and head out. I run on the pavements but the band is for the cars on the side roads. It gets dark early and the roads are slippery. I want them to see me, not hit me.

The armband is small and uses velcro to create a customized fit. The coloured part of the band – the part that’s not black – lights up in a very obnoxious neon, high-visibility orange light. It has two light settings, a steady light or blinking.

The person who stopped me to ask said it was incredibly bright, which is the entire purpose. I feel safer wearing it but clearly do check both ways before crossing any roads.

You can order it online or get any LED armband from Amazon.
