Jordan English’s Beautiful Splendour

I was at a friend’s house for her birthday when Ryan Thomas came in and mentioned that Jordan English had a show right across the street. It’s called Beautiful Splendour. The works featured fashion designers and their famour scandals. 

Andrea and I took 15 minutes to check it out. There was Dolce and Gabbana, who is facing prison for tax evasion and John Galliano and his anti-semetic rant. The detail in the work is extraordinary. You can see the Dior logo in Galliano’s uniform buttons.

There was also the logo from the house of Versace with two bullet holes in the eyes and the McQueen logo but the loop was replaced by a hangman’s noose. Those were, in my opinion, tasteless. No one gets asked to be shot in the head and suicide… we don’t know what Alexander McQueen was going through and it seems tasteless to profit from his death.
