December 12 is Free Shipping Day in Canada
If you’re going to do some online shopping, try to do it on December 12. That’s Free Shipping Day in Canada. More than 150 retailers will offer free shipping.
This is great for a number of reasons but the main one is this: it is irritating to want to shop online but only get free shipping when you spend more than you want to spend. (I know why but it doesn’t make it any less irritating and really, do you want to spend the extra money?)
Edited to add: I poked around and yes, some merchants do have minimums. It’s up to you if you want or can afford them.
This isn’t for cross-border shopping though. This is for Canadian retailers. (If you’re going to do some cross-border shopping, try eBates so you can get some money back, check RetailMeNot for coupons and there are many apps to keep you in the sales and discount loop.)
Some of the participating stores include Roots, Indigo, Paradise Comics (friends of mine), SportChek and a number of Etsy-based small businesses.
If you do shop on December 12, you will receive your items by Christmas Eve.
